Sutter Medical Group(SMG) is seeking Board Eligible or Board Certified Adult Orthopedic Hospitalists to join our dedicated inpatient orthopedic team.
This role is responsible for providing comprehensive orthopedic care to hospitalized patients, including surgical interventions, consultations, and post-acute follow-up. Physicians will work scheduled 24-hour shifts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective patient care.
Schedule
120 shifts/year (24-hour shifts with 12 hours on-site Mon–Fri, 10 hours Sat–Sun).
- Provide inpatient orthopedic surgical and non-surgical care during 24-hour shifts.
- Perform consultations, operations, and participate in care team meetings.
- Complete documentation including transfer of care, certificates, and other required reports.
- Respond to urgent patient care needs with a one-hour on-site arrival time during off-hours.
- Maintain compliance with program policies, including shift requirements and productivity expectations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and value-based care programs.
Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Active and unrestricted California Medical License.
- Active DEA Registration.
