Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Supplemental Orthopedic Hospitalist Program to join our dynamic team in Sacramento, CA.
We are seeking a Supplemental Orthopedic Hospitalist to provide intermittent coverage within our Adult Orthopedic Surgery Hospitalist Program. This role is ideal for physicians who maintain an ambulatory practice but wish to contribute to inpatient orthopedic care on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient orthopedic care during scheduled 24-hour shifts.
- Respond to urgent consults and manage perioperative care.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, APCs, and hospital staff to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Complete all required documentation, transfer-of-care tasks, and participate in multidisciplinary discussions as needed.
Schedule
- Intermittent 24-hour shifts based on program needs.
- Must maintain one-hour response time during off-site hours.
Compensation
- Shift-Based Pay: Supplemental physicians are compensated per 24-hour shift according to the SMG Supplemental Shift Rate Table (paid monthly after shifts worked).
- $4,025 per 24-hr shift
Qualifications
- MD or DO with Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery or relevant subspecialty.
- Active California medical license and DEA certification.
- Ability to provide high-quality care in a collaborative hospital environment.
- Flexible availability for intermittent coverage.
