Opportunity Information

Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a strategic, results-driven Senior Financial Analyst to join our Accounting Team within a rapidly growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Forecasting:
• Builds and maintains short- and long-tern financial forecasts, documents assumptions,
• Compares to historical data to understand differences and changes, and prepares
• Summary/presentation to explain projections.
• Prepares feasibility analysis, builds dynamic financial/forecasting models, performs sensitivity analysis and uses “what if” scenarios to evaluate strategic business opportunities, to support business decisions, and to explore financial impacts of potential opportunities or investments.
• Coordinates and/or prepares analysis relating to new and replacement facilities and equipment, new locations, investments, and other strategic projects
• Participates in the development of business plans, makes recommendations, and prepares pro-forma statements.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
• Prepares accurate and timely financial reports, and a variety of schedules and statements to accompany and/or explain information contained within the financial documents.
• Analyzes financial performance; identifies and understands trends, variances or performance gaps to assist leaders in understanding results/operational differences; and provides advice on creating and implementing action plans to balance budget needs and meet financial targets.
• Reviews and analyzes benchmark data, evaluates and analyzes benchmark reports, assist leaders in understanding comparative analysis and results, and recommends course of action or cost improvement opportunities based on analysis.
• Builds, maintains and monitors dashboard of key financial data/metrics as identified by leadership.
• Develops and maintains cost standards, collaborating with department leaders.
Operating/Capital Budget
• Prepares and distributes budget tools, analyzes historical and current expenditures and revenues, reviews trends and past performance, and estimates future needs.
• Assists leaders in preparing budgets, providing historical information or projections, and answering questions.
• Reviews budgets from various departments/affiliates, analyzing submissions to ensure accuracy.
• Consolidates and reviews budget numbers, recommends adjustments and ensures assumptions and business decisions with financial implications are quantified and included before budget is submitted to leadership for review and approval.
• Coordinates the upload and reconciliation of approved budgets into financial reporting system.
• May assume the lead role in facilitating the budget process towards timely completion.
Technical and Analytical Support
• Develops spreadsheets, models and/or templates to assist with decision support, budget preparation, reporting requirements, process improvement or operational/financial performance. Maintains financial reporting/cost accounting system, monitors data flow/interfaces and uploads.
• Serves as the technical expert in report writing, data mining and extraction using a wide array of tools, and implements reporting solutions.
• Assists with the preparation and analysis of Requests For Proposal (RFPs) and/or Requests For Information (RFIs).
• Collaborates with team to resolve difficult accounting and/or financial reporting issues, such as reconciling profit and loss statements and consolidated balance sheets.
Performance Management and Continuous Improvement
• Seeks and responds to regular performance feedback.
• Supports and assists the team when necessary.
• Contributes ideas and actions toward continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
• Recognizes and communicates potential issues to appropriate leader.

Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is a premier multi-specialty medical group made up of over 200 physicians practicing in the greater San Francisco service area. SWBMG works in partnership with Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation (SPMF), a non-profit organization providing care through its affiliation with SWBMG. Physicians work as a team to provide patient-focused care that encourages a sense of teamwork. SPMF provides physicians with an administrative infrastructure, allowing physicians to focus on patient care.
