We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgeon to join our dynamic team of surgical oncologists. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the treatment and management of complex liver and pancreatic conditions, specializing in surgical oncology. The successful candidate will be joining a well-established surgical oncology department with access to cutting-edge technology and advanced clinical resources. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and experienced surgeon to contribute to a growing program that emphasizes excellence in clinical care, education, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized surgical care for complex pancreatic and liver malignancies.
- Participate in the management of other surgical oncology cases, with limited involvement in melanoma, sarcoma, breast, and colorectal cancers.
- Serve as an active educator within our General Surgery Residency Program, supervising 1–2 residents on service most of the time.
- Engage in multidisciplinary case discussions and contribute to ongoing quality improvement and patient-centered initiatives.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions and collaborate with colleagues across oncology, pathology, radiology, and other specialties.
- Supervise and mentor 1-2 general surgery residents on service regularly, with an educational commitment of approximately 12-15 hours per month, compensated by the institution.
- Provide comprehensive preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for patients undergoing HPB procedures.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practices within the HPB surgery team.
- Participate in clinical research projects and academic initiatives to advance the field of surgical oncology.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of post-fellowship experience in surgical oncology with a focus on HPB surgery.
- Board Certified in General Surgery.
- Completed an ACGME-accredited Surgical Oncology Fellowship.
- Demonstrated expertise in HPB surgery, particularly pancreas and liver procedures.
- Commitment to resident education and academic participation.
- A strong record of clinical excellence in HPB surgery, with expertise in pancreatic and liver malignancies.
