Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods (SMGR) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Behavioral Health team. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for mental health innovation and community impact. This position offers excellent growth potential and opportunity for leadership within a well-established, physician-led medical group.

Opportunity details:

  • Robust referral network from a strong base of primary care clinicians and patients within the Sutter Health system
  • No call obligations
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration with psychologists, nurse practitioners, therapists, social workers and other clinicians
  • Focus on outpatient care, with attention to psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, risk assessments, psychotropic medication management and crisis intervention.
  • Opportunities for program development, quality improvement initiatives, and teaching (if desired)
  • Leadership pathways for clinicians interested in clinical or administrative roles
  • Integrated EMR (EPIC)
  • Strong office support staff

Requirements

  • Board certified or nationally certified
    • Nurse Practitioner: Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred
    • Physician Assistants: additional training, education in psychiatry preferred
  • Experience required
